hi all, been and purchased a a 2014 plate dci acenta premium with only 21k on the clock and fsh. she is white with red detailing (partner has named her daisy) quite original lol. This was after our focus got wrote off bought it back from insurance and stripping, partner saw the juke and fell instantly in love. will add pics soon....
Is there/are there any issues i would worry about/look for?
i change the oil twice a year ,mobil 1 esp. so to keep it clean.
once a month a bottle of stp dpf cleaner in the tank.My mrs only goes to work in it ,so i make sure it gets a run now and again.
It all adds to keep the dpf clear, mrs loves are daisy.
well, thanks for the info. I was contemplating on blanking off the EGR valve, cat back s/s exhaust, induction kit, a re-map with EGR delete also, wind deflectors, and a full led upgrade, to begin with. I did want the dpf gutting and seamed back up but with new laws doubt it.
was looking at the dpf cleaners in euro but they around 15 a time. this is our first car with a dpf so a thrash weekly then
Do your revs take a while to drop when your changing gear? say change at 3k by the time you're in gear the revs are probably on 2.5...
It would be a big job anyway getting the dpf off on yours, its right behind the engine.mine is underneath
i came across a brand new one for £140 so had to get it and put it in my garage.
can you not over heat your turbo blanking the egr off.
your engine does run slightly hotter due to nox with egr blanked, but your engine will run cleaner, no clogged egr(open/closed) stalling, revs hunting, lack of power on pull off, and a cleaner inlet manifold, more good than bad. our focus had it done as soon as it ran out of warranty ran like a dream after
tbh it is a must on a diesel. in theory, then it will help with the declogging of the dpf. there are 2 ways, 1st a plate of the bay between 5 and 10 quid. this should not throw a eml. the 2nd is to get a re-map and delete it through the software or just the software on its own. a re-map should give you around 30-40bhp and around 50lb more torque increase
