Hi all,
We are in the market for a small SUV and we think a Juke might fit the bill.
Looked at 1.5 Teknas but might consider the petrol one.
We do around 6K miles a year mostly urban with the odd trip further afield.
What are they like to live with?
Running costs inc commonly replaced parts?
Things to look for when viewing?

Budget is 11-12K so anything registered before 1st April 2017 for cheap taxing is considered.
Thank you :D

The juke is small, much smaller inside than you'd think. Check to boot space meets your needs if you think you'll need a big boot.

The 1.2 petrol engines have a very bad reputation, poor mpg, not helped by a fuel tank. Nissan are even replacing full engines free of charge for some problems, that gives you an idea of they know something is wrong.

The diesel is a great little engine, we do quite high miles and only a few of the common problems. I've never seen much about people suffering due to low miles on the diesel juke.

The 1.6 would be my choice if forced into petrol.

As for trim, tekna gets a big recommendation over the rest, even bose (though I think they are too new for your tax break). Heated leather makes all the difference on those cold mornings. :D

Hi pj, Welcome to the forum,The Juke is a fabulous car mine is the 1.6 N/A version petrol of course and I have had no issues at all in over 8 years
some people say they are ugly some say gorgeous, mine is the nicest frog you can find, it is purely upto the individual likes and dislikes.Everyone say's that their choice of colour is the best..As previously said the 1.2 turbo is a crap engine but then again we have owner members who love them so there you go, we are all different when choosing our cars, please let us know which model you choose and show us a picture of it so we can say ours is a nicer colour.

With your mileage, I would say that under no circumstances should you buy a diesel juke, you are setting yourself up for a DPF failure (I've had one, they aren't cheap, and mine was partly paid for under warranty by a kind dealership). In terms of size - if there are just two of you, then there's a reasonable amount of space in the back with the seats folded down, if there are 4 of you, then you are going to be limited by boot space, though if you don't have a spare wheel, or use a space saver, there is some additional space below the boot floor. 1.2 engine had known problems early on, I think that was fixed later on, but don't quote me on that. The 1.6 DiG-T is a lot of fun (that's what I have - I've also owned the dCi and the 1.2). Can't speak for the standard 1.6 as I've no experience of them.
