Walk Away or Not?

Hi All,

First post on here and sad for it to be this. Yesterday I put a £250 deposit and signed an order form for a 2014 Juke 1.2 DIG - T Accenta Premium 5 door. I was assured allsorts by the saleswoman including mpg of mid-40's. Stupidly after a day of looking at cars I didn't test drive and am due to collect on Thursday.

Since then I've read so many bad reports, and as they haven't got a 1.6 petrol in stock I'm wondering whether to walk away. I know legally I'm committed and they have the right to insist on me buying it after signing an order form, but from what I read they might let me walk away and I'd lose £250 which is better than losing a chunk of £9995 trading it in in a few weeks time. It's probably also not worth their while pursuing me through the courts. I'm not too worried about the £250 given the circumstances.

Are the problems really as bad as I read, or am I just reading the unhappy owners and there's loads of happy ones out there without any issues?

Any help welcomed.

Just an update on the above. I phoned the Nissan dealership and spoke to the Sales Manager who was very understanding and released me from the contract, refunding the full £250 deposit, despite me stating I was not too worried about that.

Super customer service which will ensure I still consider Nissan for the car replacement, though probably not the 1.2 DIG-T engine. I've written to the CEO to commend the Sales Manager as I know I've had a very lucky escape.

Hi.
You must have peace of mind when you buy a car, so if you feel you have done the right thing that's great. I have a new 67 reg 1.2 Juke Envy and if the information on the computer is correct it's 35.8 mpg, I only use it a few times a week as I am retired but I can imagine not a car for commuting.

I have 1.6 Dig-T 4x4 auto which is great. I have had over 30 cars, BMWs and Volvos amongst others, in the past and this is the equal of any of them in my view. Mpg is 33, could be better but spirited driving does no favours! I keep it in 4x4 v mode and normal , not sport, and it zips away just fine. In 2 wheel drive mode I found there is a lot of wheel spin and torque steer, but 4x4 v stops all that.
