Kuro black console,

Well got talking to someone at Nissan last week and got onto
the topic of the Kuro and its Black
console, so I asked what was the issue with painting the console black,
Basically quality control. Nissan sets
very high standards for paint finish,
which actually quite shocked me given how soft Nissan paint is, but that's what
the issue was apparently it takes a very
long long time (over a year) to develop a paint that meets Nissan Quality
control 100% of the time and in the case
of the Kuro centre console in black due to the metallic particles in it this was happening , in fact I heard elsewhere there were more
rejects than what met QC that said I was also told that you and I would be very
unlikely to see the tiniest of
flaws something to do with clumping of the metallic, and any spot of
dust is a NO NO and will be rejected . So basically Nissan
called time on the black consoles
because it was delaying the cars as they couldn't get the consoles to
the quality they expected in the time frame.

This is also the reason why the consoles are generally only
available in the 2 colours they are as these 2 colours have been developed to go on the console with the development of the car and to
introduce the external colour to the car
on the inside will take a lot of development.
