There's
nothing customer facing just yet, but there will be.
· The second generation
connect system has so far only been introduced on Juke models built from
February 2013 onwards.
o In case anyone asks,
we haven't been made aware of retro fitment to vehicles built before his date
being possible which suggests to me it won't be possible
· The new system
incorporates connected services that work by linking the car online through the
customer's mobile phone.
o This connection
allows them to access the following features:
§ Google Send-to-Car
featuring Google points of interest
· Google Send-to-Car
allows an owner to plan a journey on the web then send the locations to the
car, so that when the journey starts the navigation system has already planned
the best route, accounting for any traffic issues and incorporating any points
of interest (POI) specified.
§ Weather forecast data
§ Fuel prices data
§ Flight info data
· These connected
services are available on a subscription basis with the first three years
provided free of charge with the purchase of a new Nissan equipped with the
second generation connect system.
o As the services work
through the customer's mobile phone, they will also need to ensure they have a
suitable mobile internet data tariff for their phone to avoid incurring charges
from their mobile provider for data transfer
· Customers will be
able to register for these services either through a dedicated link or through
the You+ Nissan owners portal
o The registration site
is anticipated to go live sometime in the next couple of weeks - I'm afraid we
haven't been provided with a specific date yet.
