1.5 dci misfire

Post by GAMBA » Fri Jan 02, 2015 1:16 am

Help, has anybody out there experienced the problem that I have with my 2013 Juke 1.5 dci 8500 miles. At anywhere between 1800 and 2000 RPM will start to judder setting up a vibration through the car making it uncomfortable to drive at motorway speeds. The supplying dealer has had two attempts at a fix, 1st time given third degree over what fuel I was using and journey length DPF? That did not relate as this took place 4 times during a 560 mile round trip so was told to book it in again for a software change. 2nd time was told no fault found does not need software patch, as if they did it could make it worse as Nissan does not specify to dealers what the software adjustments do. As this is an intermittent fault I took their chief tec for a run and low and behold it does it again. O! he says I have to look on internet to see if I can find an answer? I am 14K into this car and that is what is called CUSTOMER SERVICE.

on a 500 mile journey, this doesn't sound like a DPF issue, but make sure you have it in writing that this has been checked just in case.I would have thought that a misfire should raise a canbus error, worrying if this hasn't happened and recorded - you could get a bluetooth canbus reader and torquePro and run that for a while. Only other thoughts are a faulty injector.

one more thought - how can they think it will make it worse without knowing what the fault is? They (nissan) know what has been changed in the software, so if it does make it worse, then that should point to what the issue is.

The only issue i have in mine is a judder at about 1750 revs in 5th gear going up a slight incline. Cant be replicated at any other time or situation but this has been reported to Arnold Clark and they could replicate it. I know mine isnt a one off.

I'm guessing this is the same issue, they all seem to do it. Exactly the same, 5th gear slight incline the juddder starts. The internet suggests its the rubber damper on the clutch juddering in time with the engine reves. Different gear, or roll off the throttle and it goes away.

PS, mine is chipped and it still does it on the new map, so its doubtful the dealer will be able to fix this with a fuel map.

Thanks guys for your input on my misfire problem my dealership has asked if they can have the car for 3 days as they wish to carry out a leakage test?. My limited knowledge of diesel technology would say to me that would only be relevant if I had an over run problem on shut down and not to my problem. I will update you after this takes place as is it not till the 20/1/2015.

Sorry to hijack the thread here but how/ where did you get your diesel chipped? I thought I saw somewhere that the start/ stop models were harder to do? :)
