Slave Cylinder

Post by scullet » Mon May 20, 2019 4:57 pm

Hi all,
Have owned my Juke 1.2 Tekna 2015 from new, it’s been a great car.
I’ve had a few of the problems listed on the forum but most things were sorted under the warranty. This year I had the car mot/serviced at a local garage and it was brought to my attention that there was hydraulic oil leaking which turned out to be from the slave cylinder seal. My car has only covered 26000 miles so I was quite shocked, I ended up replacing slave cylinder and clutch with a big fat bill.
I have written to Nissan to complain, so we’ll see how that goes.
Would be interested to know if this is a common problem.

Is the slave cylinder integral to the clutch release bearing on that engine?
If it is then it's possible that they'll say it's a wear and tear item.
