Nismo RS Erratic Idle Speed

Post by Mark_T » Wed Jan 06, 2016 8:45 pm

Not a problem on my RS, it revs at around 1500 from cold then drops back to around 600 once it is warm.

I have same problem, 2016 nismo rs, only done 2000k, doesn't matter if the engine is warm or cold. Pull up at a junction or change gear and revs stay at 1500 rpms. If i dip the clutch and wait a few seconds they rpms drop down to 750 and when idling without driving first they car idles at 1500 from cold and drops down to 750.

I have a 2016 Nismo RS, had 4K on the clock when I bought it, its now hitting 8K, but it does the "when you dip the clutch to change gear the revs don't drop (or go slightly higher))...and yes it sounds like I can't drive properly.

I thought it was down to all the crap in the exhaust for emmisions..so much back pressure it takes ages for the car to loose revs.
Try sitting in neutral and rev a bit, takes a age for the revs to drop :(

I took my one out today, drove around 3 miles, dipped the clutch and the engine was revving all over the place, jumping up and down from 1500 to 2500 as though I was blimping the throttle. Hope this isn't going to be a problem that can't be resolved.

Wife’s Nismo RS which she has had a year idles between 500 to 700, only 15,000 miles on it . Dealer thinks there’s nothing wrong with it, but then they also said it needed new pads and discs last week when she took it in for a service, they also couldn’t find anything wrong with the hand break as it locks on the off side rear wheel. Only 4mm on the tyre on that wheel but 5.5 on all the others, time to forget the main dealer I think! Rip off merchants are probably waiting for the warranty to run out!

I have a 2015 Nismo RS. Idle speed is fine, pads and brakes have not had to be done at 33,000 miles but I shredded that first set of tyres! Needed replacement at 12,000. I didn't go dealer, I found some good all-weather tyres. A little heavier feel to the initial off the line but holding up well and way better in rain and snow.

I have been subject of a targeted ad on social media, some kind of law firm investigating flaws in the CVT? You might want to google. I've had no problems but Juke is one of the cars that they are inquiring about.
