All squeaky (ish) cleaned and refitted, cleared fault light, road test to come, some pics of engine bay too if it helps other people locate the unit

After all that!! Removed and cleaned the Egr valve, 2 miles down the road and orange engine management light back on! Put the code reader on and yep P1453!! I hate this car!!

Other options from searching online are::

EGT sensor
Differential exhaust pressure sensor
Exhaust manifold pressure sensor (unlikely in my view)
Cam or crank sensors

can you still rule out the egr,i would give it a run with it unplugged and see if it gives another code.

I will try unplugging the Egr and see if it throws another code. Driving me insane, think it's going to have to go to a garage

found this on here
We actually go to the bottom of the P1453 on the Juke.
I was the DPF Exhaust Map Pressure sensor and the two little pipes that go into it.
Once of them was completely blocked and needed replaced and the other just needed cleaned.
Once we made these changes (after many other attempts to fix it - we even changed the EGR Value that made no difference), the car has been running fine.
