Tyre wear in the middle sounds like overinflated tyres to me

MikeGC I agree but if you say you got the car as used it may be that the previous owner may have parked on a kerb or bumped onto one when driving this can know tracking out I have a fleet of hire vans and it happens with them all the time due to couriers parking on kerbs at every drop they get to, get a 4 wheel track done and see if that could be a problem?

Thanks for all the input guys.Interestingly on another forum there is evidence that Nissan are aware of a problem with early tyre wear with Continental tyres, and some customers have had replacements from Nissan.I intend to contact them on Monday, and will update you with how I get on.

If the car was kerbed constantly, I would have guessed it would be more likely to be the nearside rather than the offside. You haven't said how the tyres were worn - as has been mention, if the centre is worn and not the edges, then it's overinflation (my new juke was delivered with grossly overinflated tyres), if the tracking is out, I wouldn't expect even wear across the tyres, so the wear pattern is important. The fact that is both tyres on one side doesn't sound to me like driving too fast, and yours isn't a Nismo r DiG-T anyway. It does still sound like two of the tyres have been swapped out - the fact that they are on one side implies that whoever did it was lazy and jacked up the car on one side and swapped both out, rather than raising one end and changing either both front or both back - that would also imply someone using the car jack rather than a garage as they tend to lift the end of the car with attachments for ramps. The suggestion above about looking at the date stamp on the tyres should give a better idea - I didn't realise this was on tyres, so thanks for that.

The dealer definitely should but I checked mine because a few members on here had said that theirs were overinflated when new, and mine turned out to be the same. So I would always check it, and when you're happy it's right, do a reset of the TPMS if you have it fitted.

I also checked mine because a few members on here had said that theirs were overinflated when new, and mine turned out to be OK.

But, I think that was purely good luck

Sorry for the late reply. I've just checked the DOT numbers on the tyres, and they're all the same, 6Y4F, then D65K.
I've got the car booked in for Friday to have the tracking checked.Wint2015-07-29 20:17:01
