Red malfunction indicator light & gear change warning

Post by Missmac8 » Wed Jan 31, 2018 10:27 am

I bought my lovely Nissan juke 15 hours ago and after driving it for under an hour this morning 3 lights are randomly coming on the dashboard, stay on for a couple of seconds, and then turn off after a bit more driving. I've attached a picture of the dashboard. It seems to drive fine, although I've only driven it for an hour so I may not be picking up anything unusual!

I've taken it straight to the garage I bought it from who are looking into it but I'm worried about being fobbed off. Has anyone experienced this so I know what I'm dealing with please? Im not having much luck, i only picked it up last night! Any help appreciated!

I keep getting the exact same thing,
Took it to a garage they said it was my DPF filter so they did a forced regen. The next day when I picked it up it came back on for a second then went off.
2 days later it came on for five mins then off again so it can't be the filter if it was just cleaned?

Have you had any luck in sorting it?

could be worth investing in something like this:

Combine that with torque pro lite app for your phone (the lite app is free, and should be fine) and you can read all fault codes - it's not guaranteed as some faults might be an indicator of another fault, but it's certainly a good start.

Thanks for that, I might look at purchasing one of those. That’s really helpful :)

So when I took it back to the garage they did a forced regen and it solved it for a month, until today, when the lights have come back on whilst driving. I’m really ill and 6 months pregnant and can’t deal with the hassle of taking it to the garage until I’m better next week. So frustrating. If anyone else has any ideas I’d really appreciate it. Problem is I bought it from a Citroen garage and it’s under warranty there so I want to get it sorted by them but I’m wondering if only a Nissan garage could solve it permanently.

I'd check the terms of the warranty, there's the possibility that you might be able to take it to another dealer other than the one you bought it from, so you may be able to take it to a Nissan dealer to sort it.

Did anyone find out the cause of this? I now have the same: engine warning light on as well as gear light constantly staying on.

Thanks
Laura

Yes, there are a few posts here, it's the exhaust gas pressure sensor
