I am desperate for help!!
PLEASE I have the code P1453 on my juke 2014 1.5 dci, I can clear the code using my basic fault code reader but after a few journeys low and behold it's back and I don't know where to start?!?
you could unplug the exhaust gas temperature sensor and see if it gives another code.
i use the icarsoft obd scanner and that shows me the temperature of the exhaust, so i could rule out the sensor.
also shows the soot content in the dpf
I have ordered a haynes manual because I can't find the sensors at all, I've done a motorway drive and sprayed wd40 in various holes. I am OK with tools and am happy to work on the car but god knows what does what or what I'm looking for
I dont think the haynes manual will show where the sensors are very well.
There are also two version sof the 1.5 dci, you are on the change year so could be early or late. There are some subtle differences when it comes to sensor locations.
My dpf is under the car and easy to get to.the exhaust temp sensor screws in on the side and is plugged in
the dpf exhaust pressure sensor screws in on the other side.
the dpf behind the engine is a bit harder to get to.
whats the milage
The mileage is 95k, ideally I could do with a picture of the sensors in question, and what to do with them I'd I do find them, everywhere I look I get a different answer to the code I am getting. So frustrating but thankyou for your responses
How do I clean the egr? I may sound thick, maybe my M.S brain kicking in, what would be your sequence of events regarding this fault please? Thankyou so much
Just thought I would give you a quick update, I have removed the Egr and it is really coked up, will give it a good clean, refit it, clear the code and keep you posted.....
Thankyou Everybody for your help so far x
Thanks. Looks easily enough to get to (assuming it's in the same place on the later engine). Is there an egr cooler on the juke? that sometimes needs a clean out too.
After all that!! Removed and cleaned the Egr valve, 2 miles down the road and orange engine management light back on! Put the code reader on and yep P1453!! I hate this car!!
EGT sensor
Differential exhaust pressure sensor
Exhaust manifold pressure sensor (unlikely in my view)
Cam or crank sensors
