How To Replace Your Air Conditioning Condenser HELP

Post by Ciaran_101 » Tue Jul 24, 2018 4:32 pm

Hello to all, I'm new to the forum and need some help if possible. I hope someone can help with the removal of the air conditioning condenser as mine has a leak (courtesy of something coming through the wine rack at the front  ), I had seen one post on the forum from a gent called Paul but there were no images. If anyone can point me in the direction of a step by step with images it would be much appreciated.
Cheers,
Ciaran

Your best bet would be to send Paul a private message.

Had the same problem about two weeks after I purchased the car.
Bought the rad off of eBay as Nissan wanted over £300.
£83 new with a guarantee from eBay.
Much better.
The front bumper needs to be removed to get to the rad.
Whilst out I installed a wire mesh grill.

I had to replace mine two weeks after buying it for the same reason.
From bumper had to be removed to get at the rad.
Bought a new one from eBay as Nissan wanted over £300 for one.
Whilst the bumper was off I fitted a mesh grill to stop it happening again.

I was about £220 for the Nissan aircon condenser as the facelift one is different to all the ebay type. The pressure sensor is in a different place.

Once you get the bumper off then it's really obvious, 2 bolts on the pipes, 2 bolts on the fixings, and the pressure switch connector. See here: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=7609&p=66642#p66642

Getting the bumper off is the tricky part, and not breaking the plastic clips on the side trim. Download the manual and have a look, there are some plastic clips on the top edge, some in under the light in the engine bay, and some behind the black side trim.

I got the whole service manual free from here: http://nicoclub.com/nissan-service-manuals

The eBay rad does fit the facelift models.
It requires a couple of brackets that's all.
Well worth saving about £200 quid in my view.

eBay wanted £160 for the correct facelift condenser. Local motorfactors were s bit cheaper, but couldn’t guarantee the fit and was non-refundable.

The Nissan one was sure to fit.
