Fog light wan*ers

Post by MandZ » Wed Dec 05, 2018 12:42 pm

I appreciate that none of the law abiding folk here would do such a thing, but does anyone know why I see so many Jukes driving around with their fog lights on? During the day, evening and night when there’s no sign of mist never mind fog.

I know there’s always some idiot who drives with fog lights all the time but there seems to be a disproportionate number of Jukes that are guilty of it. There must be a reason.

Or it could be that they turned them on without realising it, but saying that if we was all perfect drivers life would be boring.
Its only a Juke if it's RED.

Mine has a light in the dash that comes on when the fog lights are on, if someone can't see that they probably shouldn't be driving.

Why do the front lights annoy you, they dont blind, they are good for lighting up the sides of the road. My other car has the front fogs come on if I turn left of right.

They don’t light up the side of the road in the daytime, anyway it’s an offence to use them in the conditions that I described.

You’re right though, they don’t blind and they’re a very good indicator of poor drivers. Maybe I should just be grateful that it makes the poor drivers easy to spot.

Either way, my original question hasn’t been answered.

I used to have mine left on at the front as I used to drive along country roads at night (or early morning), it makes a different in winter and on wet days. They would only come on with the lights, of course this was in the days where you had to do things in the car like switch lights on and put your key in the door lock to open it. Probably the autolights are making them come on.

Some cars do look cool with their fog lights on, like a rally car type effect when you see them drive at night.

Some DRL lights are just as bright, do you have an issue with those?

And what is the act that states you cant have front fog lights on? I had an older audi coupe where they oficially called the fog lights "Driving lights" in the handbook.

Highway Code rule 226. Maybe you should refresh yourself with it.

The highway code is not used in court or by police, it's needs to be part of the road traffic acts.
