Don't give up hope. A few people have found a car ordered on spec by dealers to have something to sell so it is worth phoning around some of the larger dealers. You may just drop on a car with a short delivery time.

It's ok though as it's not a safety issue it will go into limp home mode

Well, had the Qashqai a week and mightily impressed so far. Coming from the Juke1.6 it feels so refined. Got my best MPG figures today as well, 55.6, and I wasn't trying .......honest.
Having read the QQ forums,in the months previous, I was a little worried about the build quality, in particular the electrical niggles.
The Stop/Start on first impressions does seem to have a mind of its own, but I have noticed the clutch pedal is super sensitive, you have to have your feet right back, not hovering, else it will kick back in. Also, sat in a long queue the other day, engine off, feet right back, and it started......nearly s**t myself, but then realised I had the lights on auto, and they were on ,so maybe it sensed a drain and started it back up? Anyway, if it's a fault, I'll live with it for now.
So, all good so far

The juke fires up depending on what you have on etc . On normal mode you can see the battery meter dropping . .

The stop start seems to settle down as you put miles on the car. Ours is now running perfectly and with 7k on the clock mpg is averaging 52 mpg with 60 plus on a few non motorway runs lately. All in it is an excellent car and (at the time of buying ours in June) very good value for money. The 1.5 dCi pulls well and the car does not feel under powered as the torque is good and comes in from 1500 rpm.

I'm also averaging 52 with a best of 66, after 3.5k miles. My stop/start continues to be completely random, the other morning after travelling 1 mile from cold it kicked in!
I have plenty of other electrical niggles, most annoying is the front parking sensors, radio cutting out, push button start does not work every time, alarm goes off for no reason( didn't even realise there was an alarm!) so will have to get it booked in for Nissans buzzword, UPDATES!
I'd forgive it anything though, such a cracking drive
