Is any car built to last

Post by Harbo » Sun Jul 10, 2016 8:03 pm

Hi all
Does anyone else think that any new cars are worth keeping more than three years
My dad had a Morris Marina for 12 years which he bought for 400 quid
Then he got a Ford Cortina which he paid the same for and had that for the same time with few issues
Point being we pay a lot more for the cars we buy yet feel pressured in changing before big bills start

Hi,

I don't buy new cars as you take too much of a hit in depreciation being 1st owner.

No pressure to renew any of mine.

If you go the PCP route, you're usually in this agreement for 3 years or thereabouts so the option to renew is stronger as you'd just hand the car back anyway?

Cheers,

Cofnchtr.
