Fitted my front and rear cameras in today.

I found it really easy to run the supplied power supply through the head lining and down the pillar, round to the standard power supply - I wanted to "dry fit" and test the positioning before going all out on the install.
So lots of playing this week to make sure it's well sited...

Next is to piggy-back onto the power supply outlet so that the adapter is hidden, as there is no suitable output from the fusebox as far as I can see....(5V / 1.5A)

Keep you posted...

Ermm... In theory I could make it work with Connect 2 but I would have to look at the wiring diagrams and may have to rewire it / buy some different plugs.

I'm very interested in the module you developed for a front camera, is it available to purchase?Secondly, as I already have a in car DVR (HD-quality) recording the front, I would like to install a basic DVR that recorded the rear camera when driving along. Do you think there is a way to do this? Maybe interrupt the signal from the rear camera and provide power to it all the time? I obviously would not want it permanently on the Connect display, only when reversing. But it would be useful to record what's going on behind as well as in front. (Unfortunately I do seem to come across some idiots on the road and will be forwarding footage to Police)

Was you making a few of these units up and selling them?

I can't see the question answered above regarding power - is there permanent power available (when the ignition is on) in the headlining for a camera, either from the interior light or from a rain sensor if not fitted - I'm looking at fitting a camera and I'd rather not run wires around the car if I can help it.

It's pretty easy to feed through the existing routes where wiring for lights and wipers runs up into the door.
I say easy, I mean very fiddly and time consuming, but no need for cutting, drilling etc.

I actually ran a cable front to back - so from my camera mounted in the windscreen through the headliner and down the pillar.

Lots of patience needed but I got a camera installed onto my window relatively easily

It's the fiddly bit that worries me :-D

As a matter of interest, does anyone know how to remove the instrument hood over the speedo/rev counter?
