Petrol 1.6 Juke 2012.
The engine sounds fairly noisy when driving on the motorway....like the engine is working too hard with the revs sounding much higher than they should be....except that is not the case as the rev counter is where you would expect it to be around the 3 × mark.

I was thinking of using some sound proof material in the engine compartment.....has anyone ever done this, and is it likely to be that effective ?

I find the juke really bad for road noise, particularly in the rain.

We've got the diesel, and that engine is very noise form the outside (compared to my citroen diesel), yet the engine noise isn't so bad in the car. Maybe the diesel has more sound proofing somewhere.
