My 2016 DCI misfiring

Post by moonscross » Sat Nov 23, 2019 1:23 pm

Hi all
My wifes 2016 DCI has started misfiring on cyl 1, typically just out of warranty... symptoms are:
No engine management light (EML)
start stop light flashing
ESP Light on

I have changed the Injector however not sure if this needs to be mapped and with no EML i dont think this is the problem

Im airing towards an ECU issue...does anyone know if this is plug and play or do they need mapping...?

Any help would be much appreciated…even just to stop the wife complaining!

Thanks for your response Marrygold… I have replaced the original injector and it seemed to have worked for a short while then started misfiring again... im assuming if there was an issue with the injector it would have thrown up an EML...not completely discounting this and without an EML it could possibly be a fuel quality issue..??

without an eml how do you know which cylinder is misfiring, and bad fuel would misfire all over the show

I had an eml very briefly.. P0201.. which I reset , now only getting a flashing start/stop and an ESP light...more than likely it is an Injector...I intend to have a garage confirm diagnosis...will update later

Hi moonscross, Welcome to the forum,You say your car is just out of warranty how far is it over the date because I know that Nissan sometimes correct a problem when the warranty date is very close to the expiry date.
Its only a Juke if it's RED.

Did you check for codes?

Thanks Bernie & vexorg
Nissan warranty ran out in July...only 16k miles, I have sent Nissan Customer Services an email...you never know I might get a response..??
I have a pending P0201 code which points me to Cyl 1 injector...because of a pending code I have no EML

Have you cleared the code and tried again, just in case it's an old code
