Done! Removed offside dipped headlamp bulb (bit of a mission) near side front indicator bulb, rear off side brake bulb and indicator bulb (I know I know I went a bit mad with removing bulbs) and guess what? Absolutely no warning of any bulb missing! The indicator blinked faster as you would expect and still no warning when headlights were turned on and brakes applied. So that's the answer. No cam bus in the lighting. Got pictures to prove it too

Ok fair enough. Still though, when I decide what HID kit to go for, I will probably go for a high quality one from HIDS4U or HIDS direct so that all eventualities are covered!!

Well .... as you ask ....... My cap still fits? Does this help ............ ..... I so enjoy my Tea Breaks now.

Rite now back to the HID kit before we get to side tracked with the thought of kissing M-Js bum ...
M-J did you ever fit that head light washer kit? If not you still thinking of doing so? And what's the advantage of fitting it other than just spraying your headlight lenses?

OK Capt. Sensible Down to business then (Psssst ... I'm supposed to be back on duty - tea break was over 15 mins ago!!! - you'll get me shot ... literally!) Right ... washer kit. Was to help Keep It Legal? As according to the Armchair Experts on here I'd be condemned by every plod in the land .... blah, blah, blah! No, not got round to sorting it or fitting it .... details here ...http://www.auto-essentials.co.uk/ecomm/catalog/universal-windscreen-headlight-washer-kit-12volt-litre-p-2993.htmlCheapest and most complete kit I could find. Sorry ... got to dash ... will post more on this later when I get time! WORK! Being beckoned ... oh, so politely by a RSM who does not want to be POLITE!!!Later!

After much deliberation I decided to opt for these in 35W 4300Khttp://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CANBUS-XENON-HID-CONVERSION-KIT-MINI-AC-35W-BALLASTS-H1-H3-H7-H11-HB3-HB4-9005-6-/370911540204?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item565c0cf3ecNot too expensive and not too cheap, also seller is based not far from me so if something goes wrong then no so far to go and shout at them!Be picking them up from Argos sometime next week and fit them next weekend sometime. I will do some documentation for u guys n gals on here.I have had the bulbs out recently allbeit very tight and fiddly. Passenger side is quite easy, drivers side not so much. I removed the 2 bolts holding the upper light fitment and removed I believe to be the horn so i can at least get a hand in there to get them out.Regarding headlight washers n auto levelling, in just under 3 yrs time when its MOT time, i'll remove the HIDs and put the halogens back in.Another thing, anyone know where the screws for the headlight adjustment is?

Nice one that's a really good price. Hope you ordered them in H11 fitment and not H4. I had a look at changing my bulbs not long ago to night breaker unlimited and ordered H4 with out doing much research thinking it would be the same bulb as the older Jukes H4. And as you mentioned not much room, that true as I couldn't even get my hands down to the headlight housing to check what the bulb fitment was! Good luck with the fitting

I managed to change the facelift juke bulbs for Nightbreakers, and it's definitely a pig of a job - scratched my hands a few times (enough to draw blood). Bugger is, the nightbreaker bulbs have a shorter life than the originals, so I'll probably be doing this again within a year.Still not managed to remove the front indicator bulbs - gave up on that altogether.

i discovered that if u unbolt the upper light housing, they lift up a bit, that should give u enough room to go your hand in there, then give em a twist! The 2 bolts are quite obviously found.

As well as washers, I believe it also needs self levelling. But that aside, I've just found this (from Osram) http://www.osram.com/osram_com/tools-and-services/services/osram-guarantees/guarantees-for-consumer/guarantee-process-for-automotive-lamps/guarantee-process-for-hid-conversion-kit/index.jsp- it still invalidates your insurance, even if you declare the mod to your insurance company - the crucial bit is
This product is not ECE-approved and therefore may not be used on public roads. The use on public roads will cause the termination of the operating license of the vehicle and the loss of insurance cover.
- there are different ECE approval numbers for Halogen and HID, and they aren't interchangeable. So even if you declare the mod, you are potentially still not insured - this could mean that an insurance company will wriggle out of a claim even if an accident happened in daylight and the lights were not being used, so had no affect on an accident. The only way to have an ECE approval is to replace the entire headlamp unit with one that has been specifically designed for HID bulbs.Bottom line, it's entirely up to you to whether you change it - correctly adjusting the headlamps and fitting washers will hopefully stop you from being noticed, and realistically, unless you've really pissed Mr Plod off, he probably won't check every last detail on your car if you are stopped, so you'll probably get away with it, but if you don't, potentially you are looking at driving without insurance - that's 6 points. As a policeman once told me on a different matter, if you are breaking the law, you have to be lucky every time you go out - a police officer needs to be lucky just the once.

Armchair .... anyone? First off, I was saying earlier .... 'to help' keep it legal. You need a Washer & Self Leveling Kit. Not practical to instal a leveling kit but it is a washer kit. WHY, well your average 'plod' as Aunty Armchair puts it will notice your HIDs, notice your Washer Set, may ask you to 'spray them' but can't test a 'leveling feature'. So will go off happy - unless of course your being an Ass? This is, if you get pulled over at the side of the road? And by the way, the average 'plod' is not trained or qualified to test or prohibit a vehicle at the side of the road, they have to call in a suitably trained college of which most forces only have a few, and then not always on duty?As for Insurance Companies wriggling out of paying out on a claim for having HIDs, you'd need to be a pretty unlucky armchair for that to happen? First off your Headlights would need to have survived a frontal impact - intact (?) and secondly your insurance company would need a reason to have them tested? Sorry, but someone has been sat in their Armchair way too long to come up with that one? What next ... your insurer's doing an itemised check of your mobile phone bill after every accident in the hope they can prove you where on it and thus place the blame for any accident on to you using your phone, so causing said accident meaning they wouldn't need to pay out? Even if your car had been stationary and someone else runs into you??? God help us then!Anyway it's all conjecture and if my old pals 'Mr Plod' had the time and resource to detect even one tenth of the crime being committed on the roads each day, then we would have none of the idiots out there using their mobile phones, not wearing seat belts, using iPads, reading books & maps etc, all whilst driving at twice the speed limit ... would we? Eh!Oh, before I turn in for my Coco ... I regularly drive with the Boys In Blue having to take annual driving course as part of my job and some of their vehicles have been converted to HIDs [I have mentioned this before on here?] ... shall I reprimand them for you? Also my Juke is parked in the secure compound of the local station here quite often when I drop in to see one of our lads who's been a little naughty I won't say what the DCC thinks of my Juke and it's HIDs ... wouldn't want to upset anyone [already done that this evening ... but that's another story ] Well - night, night children and don't let the Armchair frighten you too much?

You M-J are my most favouritist person on here. The only issue with your statement is that I want know more about what your peers/superiors think of your pre 'faceache' Juke?
